The Technology Behind Momentous

Meet the IASIS i2

Advanced neurofeedback technology designed to support relaxation, stress reduction, and a more regulated experience.

At Momentous Neurofeedback, we believe powerful technology should not make your experience feel complicated.

We use the IASIS i2, the newest IASIS system in our studio, as part of our microcurrent neurofeedback experience. Its sophisticated technology operates quietly in the background while you simply get comfortable, breathe, and receive.

The IASIS i2 Relaxation Neurofeedback System is an FDA-cleared biofeedback device indicated for relaxation training and muscle reeducation.

Advanced technology for us. A simple experience for you.

A client rests in a studio chair with small surface sensors placed while a practitioner manages the session.

What the Experience Is Like

You Don't Have to Do Neurofeedback

One of the things people appreciate most about the Momentous experience is how little is required of them.

Small surface sensors are placed at specific locations while you sit comfortably. Your practitioner manages the technology and guides the session.

There is no test to pass, no game to play, and nothing you need to consciously control.

Simply Breathe & Receive.

  • Passive

Sit back and relax. There is nothing you need to perform or practice during the session.

  • Non-Invasive

Surface sensors are placed externally. Nothing is inserted into the body or breaks the skin.

  • Comfortable

Sessions are designed to feel simple, calm, and easy to integrate into your day.

Why We Chose the i2

Sophisticated Behind the Scenes. Simple in the Chair.

The IASIS i2 combines EEG recording technology, specialized software, surface sensors, and practitioner-controlled session tools in one modern neurofeedback system.

It allows your practitioner to monitor the technology and session information while you simply relax.

The sophistication belongs behind the scenes.

Your experience should still feel human.

  • EEG-Based Technology

Measures electrical activity through surface sensors.

  • Modern Software

Gives the practitioner greater visibility into the session and equipment.

  • Precision Setup

Sensor placement and session protocols are intentionally selected and carefully applied.

  • Consistent Session Records

Technology helps support consistency in how sessions are documented and delivered.

For Those Who Want the Technical Details

What the System Records

The i2 records electrical activity picked up by surface sensors at standard scalp locations, along with the session settings used, so a later visit can be set up the same way.

How Small the Signal Is

The signal returned during a session is measured in millionths of an amp and runs for fractions of a second at a time. That is well below the level of ordinary sensation, which is why most people report feeling nothing from it.

How Sensor Locations Are Named

Locations come from the standardized 10-20 mapping used across neurofeedback rather than being chosen on the spot. Our sensor placement page explains how those names work and how a practitioner selects them.

The Momentous Difference

Technology Matters. How It Is Used Matters Just as Much.

We chose advanced technology, but Momentous was never meant to feel like a room with a machine in it.

Your experience combines technology with careful sensor placement, thoughtful protocols, individualized attention, objective measurement tools, and an environment intentionally designed around relaxation and nervous system regulation.

We take time to answer your questions, explain what we are doing, and help you understand what to expect.

Because the technology may be sophisticated.

The care should still feel personal.

One small signal. One Momentous shift.

Our Approach

We Look at the Control Center

People come to Momentous for many different reasons.

Stress. Sleep. Focus. Mental clarity. Recovery. Performance. Feeling overwhelmed. Simply wanting to feel more like themselves.

Rather than building the experience around chasing a long list of symptoms, our wellness approach focuses on brain optimization and nervous system regulation.

The brain and nervous system influence how we respond to everything happening around us. Supporting the control center gives us a different place to begin.

Explore Why People Come

What You May Notice

Every Nervous System Responds Differently

There is no single right way to experience a neurofeedback session.

Some people describe feeling deeply relaxed or unusually calm. Some notice subtle changes later in the day or between appointments. Others feel very little during the session itself. That is okay.

At Momentous, we are interested in your experience over time rather than asking you to chase a specific feeling during a session.

When appropriate, we can also use objective measurement tools such as Brain Gauge and heart rate variability to help establish baselines and observe change.

FDA Clearance

What FDA Clearance Means

The IASIS i2 Relaxation Neurofeedback System received FDA 510(k) clearance in March 2026 as a Class II biofeedback device.

Cleared indication

Relaxation and stress reduction through the use of EEG biofeedback.

FDA 510(k) clearance means the device was reviewed through the FDA's premarket notification process and determined to be substantially equivalent to legally marketed predicate devices for its intended use.

Clearance is a different regulatory step from the stricter premarket pathway many people picture, and it does not promise a particular result for any one person. It also describes the device itself rather than how we describe our own sessions.

Our Approach

Clear, Thoughtful, and Centered on You

We want you to feel informed, comfortable, and confident in every step of your experience with Momentous.

Every person and every nervous system is different, which is why we do not make promises about specific outcomes or tell you exactly how many sessions you should need. Our role is to provide a thoughtful wellness experience, answer your questions openly, and help you understand what you may expect along the way.

Momentous Neurofeedback is a wellness practice and does not diagnose or treat medical conditions. It is not a substitute for medical care. Research surrounding neurofeedback continues to evolve, and we believe in being transparent about both what is known and what is still being explored.

We will always give you clear information, space to ask questions, and the freedom to decide what feels right for you.

Your Session

What Happens When You Sit in the Chair?

  • 01
    Get Comfortable

We welcome you in, answer questions, prepare the sensor locations, and make sure you know exactly what to expect.

  • 02
    Breathe and Receive

Surface sensors are placed and your practitioner manages the session while you relax. There is nothing you need to consciously perform.

  • 03
    Notice

Afterward, simply return to your day and pay attention to what you notice in how you feel and function.

Your first appointment includes additional time for conversation, setup, and your first session. Follow-up visits are intentionally simple and typically take about 20 minutes.
